About Earl Advisory
Led by experienced accountant, Justin Earl, Earl Advisory was formed to offer clients a more personalised accounting experience.
Originally from the Waikato, after leaving Matamata College Justin graduated with a law degree from Otago University in 2005. He spent the next three years in Argentina, playing rugby and learning Spanish.
On his return to New Zealand he cut his teeth in the accounting sector, working for Xero’s Customer Care Team. As a result he is now an expert in Xero accounting software.
Justin then gained his Qualified Chartered Accountant qualification in Wellington. He worked as an accountant at Curtis McLean and then progressed to a Senior Consultant at Deloitte. After meeting his English wife and the arrival of his eldest son, Justin made the move to the UK to practise and manage a varied client base, which gave him invaluable overseas accounting experience.
His decade of experience cemented his desire to create his own practice that offered clients a more personalised accounting experience. Justin returned to the beautiful Bay of Plenty in late 2020 with his wife and two young sons, and subsequently Earl Advisory was born.
Outside of work, Justin enjoys playing cricket for Mount Maunganui Cricket Club’s Second XI, and coaching the junior team, as well as watching his sons play rugby for the local Mount teams. In the winter months he braves the cold for a weekly swim in the Pacific, but is yet to persuade his family to join him.
Justin works with businesses in the trades, professional services/consultancy, and manufacturing sectors. He also has significant experience with investments in property, equities, and managed portfolios and is available to provide Xero training.
Earl Advisory is led by Justin Earl.
I felt the enjoyment, care of people and spirit had been draining out of professional services for a while. That email and mobile phones, bare financial targets and increasingly scarce time had turned the experience for both the advisor and the client to something quite, well… uninspiring.
So I decided to stop talking about how accounting firms should be run and I something about it… I started my own!
